Who We Are

Launched in 2011, Cultivating The Youth Experience is a nonprofit organization that offers educational and enrichment programs to youth (elementary-aged children to post-high school graduation) and their parents. We serve all areas of the Louisville community, particularly places where lower income, limited resources and education, poor health, and few job opportunities often inhibit the ability to thrive.

Our vision is to cultivate the future leaders of our community by developing a diverse cohort of young leaders. We assist youth in acquiring the abilities, experience, support, consciousness, and confidence to purposely and positively direct the course of their own lives and influence productive change in our community.

What We Do

CTYE believes that students need representation in the school system at all times therefore our number one goal is to bridge the gap between parents and teachers through our Filling in the Gaps Program. We realize that for various reasons parents are unable to go into their student's school when needed. That is where CTYE steps in. We provide a liaison to act on the parent's behalf by being present in the school system when the parent or guardian is unavailable. Our liaisons will go to parent teacher conferences, mediation, school board suspension hearings, etc. By providing this service teacher will have an opportunity for their concerns and praises to be heard.

The Works of E.S.T.H.E.R. houses our secondary programs, which believes in a more holistic approach. Everything is connected and relates in someway to the other. The Works of E.S.T.H.E.R. is at the heart of our programs, which consists of six facets designed to help students become well-rounded members of society. These facets are the Works of: Education; Spirituality & Personal Growth; Tranquility & Creativity; Health & Wellness; Empowerment; and Relationship Building. We have created programs for many of these facet. Such as Works of Education houses our Gear Up for Reading summer program, while the Works of Empowerment houses our Work Readiness Training. However, in the areas where no program exist (at this time), we have or would love to grow in partnering with other organizations that offer programs that fit our mission. We many programs at this time
