Organizations that May Use Volunteer Kentucky 

Use of Volunteer Kentucky for the purposes of volunteer recruitment and management is limited to organizations that represent and warrant that they are legally incorporated 501(c)3 nonprofits or government entities, schools, faith-based organizations, or neighborhood associations recognized as such by the applicable city or county. Serve Kentucky requires organizations offering medical, counseling, therapeutic, or similar services to have a licensed provider in each field of service offered in order to use Volunteer Kentucky. Organizations meeting the requirements in this document are referred to as agencies.

Terms and Conditions

Agency use of Volunteer Kentucky indicates acceptance of the Terms and Conditions listed below. From time to time these Terms and Conditions may be revised by updating this web page. If at any time an agency does not agree to these Terms and Conditions, the agency must cease its use of this website.

Registering agencies agree:

  1. No volunteer opportunity may discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, national origin, political belief, or physical or mental disability;
  2. All volunteer opportunities must fulfill a charitable mission;
  3. Any volunteer opportunities with a primary purpose of facilitating the advancement of any political party or candidate, religion, or for-profit business shall not be allowed;
  4. To provide a safe environment in which to work;
  5. To continue receiving referrals, agencies are required to:
    1. Post at least one volunteer opportunity.
    2. Update volunteer opportunities at least every 6 months.
    3. Keep their contact information up to date.
  6. That they are solely responsible for posting/updating their agency content. Agencies/opportunities go through an approval process that usually takes about 48 hours.
  7. That they understand Serve Kentucky, which manages Volunteer Kentucky, reserves the right to refuse posting any agencies whose volunteer programs, missions and purposes it finds contrary to the spirit of volunteerism.

Rules of Conduct

You (agencies) are solely responsible for your information and warrant that you have all legal rights and licenses necessary to conduct your programs. In connection with Volunteer Kentucky and posted content, you will not: (a) act in an unwanted, threatening, harassing, abusive or offensive manner toward any user; (b) use Volunteer Kentucky for political, commercial or advertising purposes; (c) harm or exploit minors in any way; (d) post, submit or otherwise do anything with Volunteer Kentucky, posted content, or website that is unlawful, harmful, tortious, defamatory, profane, obscene, libelous, or hateful to the average user; (e) act in a racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable manner; (f) collect or store personal data of any other user; (g) post or reference indecent or pornographic materials (whether in visual, textual, or audio format); (h) discuss, incite or otherwise solicit illegal activity; (i) violate or infringe upon the confidentiality, proprietary or other rights, of any individual or third party; or (j) transmit fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading communications. In addition, by posting your information to the website, you represent that you have all necessary rights to your information and that your information will not infringe on any personal or proprietary rights of any third parties.

Confidentiality is a hallmark of professionalism.

Serve Kentucky uses reasonable commercial efforts to avoid disclosure of information which is confidential, privileged or nonpublic other than in accordance with this privacy policy.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

Serve Kentucky gathers personally identifiable data when voluntarily submitted by a user, which may include: name, addresses, zip codes, e-mail addresses, donor choice information, user groups, etc. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order to record a stated desire to donate online to Serve Kentucky via a direct gift or through a company sponsored campaign. This information is used solely by Serve Kentucky or other parties to the transaction for the purpose of executing the transaction, to improve your experience with us, and for the internal business purposes of Serve Kentucky.

We are the sole owners of the information collected. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization other than agencies, affiliates, contractors, advisors, service providers or in our reasonable discretion to investigate or prevent fraud, illegal activity or misuse of our web site.

Periodically Serve Kentucky will send electronic communications in newsletter format or another format to our constituents, which include donors, volunteers and other business contacts. Typically these communications include information regarding community investment reporting, funded program information and results, news and events, as well as other pertinent information we feel should be reported to our constituents. Recipients retain the option to opt-out of these communications at any point in time.

If you sign up to receive news and information from us via our web site, you are electing to receive e-mail communication from us. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about our programs and other areas on our site in which you have expressed interest. At your option, you may also provide additional preference information, but it is not required.

We may collect your IP (Internet Protocol) address to administer our web site. When a web browser or email application requests a web page or email from another computer on the Internet, it automatically gives that computer the address where it should send the information. This is called the computer's "IP address". This "address" does not contain any personally identifiable information.

This collective data helps us determine how much our visitors use parts of the site, so that we can continuously improve our site. We also may provide aggregated statistical "ratings" information, never information about you personally, to our partners about how our visitors, collectively use our web site.
